Manel Kape expects to emerge as a No. 1 contender after UFC 304.
Kape (19-6 MMA, 4-2 UFC) meets Muhammad Mokaev (12-0 MMA, 6-0 UFC) in a pivotal flyweight conflict July 27 at Co-op Dwell in Manchester, England.
With each Kape and Mokaev on successful streaks, “Starboy” is assured that handing Mokaev his first-career loss will result in a shot at UFC flyweight champion Alexandre Pantoja.
“There is no such thing as a different fighter,” Kape stated in an interview with Grind Metropolis Media. “If there was, it’s (Amir) Albazi, however Albazi is injured, so possibly he’s going to have another combat. Mokaev is the youngest fighter proper now. He’s been making plenty of noise, he’s (on a) six-win streak.
“So, there must be somebody. That somebody is me that has to close down this. …I’m going to do my job. I’m going to do my work, and my work is rarely boring. Every thing I’m going to do is a masterclass. Every thing I do is particular. Every thing I do is ideal.”
Mokaev has used his wrestling to regulate and dominate most of his opposition, however Kape is assured that he’s effectively rounded sufficient to deal with him.
“I’m not centered on the wrestling. I’m not centered on his power of wrestling,” Kape stated. “What number of fighters have you ever seen take me down? Even Pantoja the champion when he fought me, he didn’t take me down, you suppose Mokaev goes to take me down? If he takes me down, I’m going to do what I did to David Dvorak, I’m going to take his arm off.”
