UFC featherweight champion Ilia Topuria is naming the one stipulation he requires to just accept a battle with Max Holloway.
It was simply final weekend that noticed Max Hollowy (26-7 MMA) defeat Justin Gaethje (25-5 MMA) by KO in a light-weight bout to turn out to be the newly topped UFC BMF champion.
Holloway, following the victory, proceeded to callout the 27-year-old Ilia Topuria.
Ilia Topuria, talking with Ariel Helwani on ‘The MMA Hour‘ spoke about Max Holloway’s victory in Las Vegas on April thirteenth at UFC 300 and voiced his pleasure round getting within the cage with ‘Blessed’ with a BMF belt on the road:
“There are lots of issues concerned on this battle. He’s bought that belt, that ‘(Baddest) Motherf**ker belt, so I’m excited so as to add that to my legacy, too. UFC champion, the ‘Baddest Motherf**ker,’ what else? After which perhaps I’ll go for a second weight class.”
‘El Matador’ continued, explaining there’s a stipulation, and a timeline – his:
“With out the BMF belt, I don’t need him in any respect. If not, I’m going to battle with Volk for the rematch. However as a result of he has that (BMF) belt, I’m enthusiastic about that. That’s why I need him. He’s been saying, ‘Proper now, I’ve lots of choices.’ He doesn’t have any choices. Proper now, I’m the champion. I select the date; I select the place. He simply needs to be prepared, and he has to attend for the decision. At any time when I need him, he needs to be prepared.”
The undefeated Ilia Topuria (15-0 MMA) final fought and defeated Alexander Volkanovski (26-4 MMA) by KO this previous February at UFC 298.
Topuria, the present UFC featherweight champion believes all of the playing cards are stacked in his favor, and will he want to battle Holloway for the BMF belt, it is going to be on his timeline.
