Canelo Alvarez and Oscar De La Hoya needed to be separated by safety at Wednesday’s press convention for Alvarez’s title combat towards Jaime Munguia.
De La Hoya, who promotes Munguia beneath Golden Boy, took a number of pictures at Alvarez throughout his introductory speech at their pre-fight press convention in Las Vegas, claiming that Alvarez was constructed by Golden Boy and that he’s answerable for his rise in boxing – one thing Alvarez didn’t take kindly.
“You don’t really feel what you’re saying, motherf*cker,” Alvarez instructed his former promoter. “You must learn it. They write it for you. They write it for you, motherf*cker. They’ve to put in writing for him what he’s going to say to this f*cking p*ssy. You don’t write something, you fool.

Alvarez stood up from his chair and approached De La Hoya, however was nearly instantly stopped by safety, who deescalated the scenario.
